Recording .. What Better Way to Spend a Saturday Night?
The Celts are on.. the Sox are probably gonna lose because the D-Rays (I refuse to call them just plain 'Rays') seem to have their number lately... and the draft consumed my brain this afternoon...
What better time to record the next episode?
We're yappin' 'bout student motivation tonight and the show should be up and available sometime on Sunday.
We'll be back on our regular schedule through the rest of the school year as best as we can tell.

Wednesday Night Recording!
Dan here:
It's Wednesday night and due to Dan's wacky weekend (New York ComicCon, baby!) we had to record earlier in the week.
And we have to keep it tight because we's gotta be up in da mornin'.
Let's see how THAT goes.

Can Ya Help a Podcast Out?
Dan here:
In our continued efforts to expand the Wicked Decent Learning community, we are actively pursuing ways to make the show more visible.
One of the easiest ways to do this is through iTunes. If people could find five, ten minutes to go to our iTunes listing and write a short review, oh boy, that would be swell. You don't have to feel obligated to download it there -- there are lots of ways to listen to WDL and we encourage them all -- but the more activity we have on that account, the more likely a casual browser will come across our fair ship and say, 'That looks seaworthy! I shall take it for a spin!'
Or something like that.
Thanks!

Episode 15: The Log and the Links
Dan here:
It took me a couple of days due entirely to being overextended (moving my sister-in-law and brother-in-law into their new house -- which is awesome, and judging a battle of the band -- which was awesome but not as awesome as seeing the potential for the greatest rec room the world has ever known) and overtired.
But here we are. I've got the list of links. I've also got the log, but can't seem to find a way to post it here for downloading. Hrmmm....
Here are the links in the order in which they appeared during the show. If I were a better host, I'd add annotate them, but I'm kinda lame like that.

I'll figure out a better way to get the chat log out there. In the meantime, if you want a copy, just sling us an e-mail and it will be on its way in a hurry.

We Are in the Middle of the Live Show Right Now
Dan here:
We're recording right now with a whole mess of cool people chatting with us. Jeff is moderating the whole shebang and I'm keeping uncharacteristically quiet.
I'll be posting a haphazard collection of links from the chat on here. And we'll try to repost with a prettier looking thing later this weekend.
Great to hear from everyone and thanks so much for supporting the show.

How to Join Our LIVE podcast
Jeff Here:
This Friday, April 11th, 2008 at 8:00 PM EST Dan and I are going to try our first LIVE podcast episode and we'd like you to join us.
Here's the skinny. We are looking for people to share "Wicked Decent" ideas and happenings in your school or classroom. What are you excited about that you think other listeners should know about. Pat yourself on the back, you know you deserve it! Pay tribute to that colleague who is so creative and energetic you just wanna sing their praises from the rooftops (please use proper safety equipment).
So now you know what, here's the "how".
Option 1: Skype
The recommended way for you to interact with us is through Skype. This is a free program that you download onto a Mac or PC and lets you communicate with other Skype users through video, audio, or chat. If you'd like to audio chat with us, you'll need a mic and if you'd like to video chat you'll need a webcam (BTW we don't plan on showing our ugly mugs on camera, but we welcome you to). Click on the Skype link here to download. Once the program is installed, you can add us as a contact (WickedDecentLearning). If you are using a microphone or webcam you can use the Skype Test Call feature to check to see if it works properly. Then simply log on around 8:00 PM EST on Friday, April 11th for the show. We will call you so that everyone is in the same conference call. That's it. No charge, no worries. This lets you listen to the show live AND be a part of the show in real time. Just keep in mind, we will be recording for rebroadcast so what you say will be sent into the reaches of the universe.
Option 2: Online Text Chat
If you can't install anything on your machine or would prefer to simply participate by text chat, we will create a chat room on ChatMaker.net. I've made the room already but no one will probably be there until the show starts. Here's the link to the room. When you get in you can click on the default user name (Guest###) and change it to your preferred name.
Option 3: You Just Can't Make it Live
So you copped out on us? Friday night TV too important for you to sign up for Tivo just this one time to help us out? Well, no hard feelings. You can always send us an email or comment before Friday's show. wickeddecentlearning@gmail.com or comment on this blog post.
Looking forward to seeing you there. If you'd like to send us an email or Skype us before hand, that would give us an idea of how many people are joining us.

Recording on Saturday Night This Week
Hey all, Dan here:
We'll be recording this week's episode on Saturday night. We spent Friday night in our respective homes and playing with Skype in hopes of setting up a live chat show in the super near future. So far the tests seem to be doing what we want them to do so . . .
Sox are tied up with the Jays but Dustin Pedroia just let one through... argh.. two on.. no outs... grrrr....
Don't blog and Sox watch... not good for the heart...
And there it is ..5-3 them guys... argh......
Back to the testing -- it's less frustrating...
